Keyboard → Find Word → type the word → Find. Tap the highlighted path to practice it. Gray Find means the word is not in the file — write a request. Do not open Edit.

Word Finder — find WANT without Edit
Official: Word Finder · AbleNet video. If Find stays gray, the word is not stored. Write a request. Do not open Edit.

From the vocabulary, select the keyboard.

Select Find Word. Word Finder opens.

Type the word. If it is not stored, Find stays gray — do not invent a button in Edit.

Select Find. The window shows the button sequence.

Tap the sequence to practice the motor pattern. The home page opens with each button highlighted in order.

That is how you find WANT without entering Edit. Language Lab Smart Charts print the same path for the aide.
What you use every day
Lesson plans for TouchChat
AbleNet points staff to AAC Language Lab for lesson plans. Run the language on HIS WordPower. Do not copy a Lab page onto his live file.
Fixing a missing vocabulary file
If WordPower disappeared, stop. Call ableCARE. Family brings the backup. Do not install another speech app while you wait.
Leave these as they are
AbleNet publishes these how-tos. On Trevor’s live file they belong to family and AbleNet. Open the article if you need to understand the feature — do not practice it on his device.
Change vocabulary
Vocab swaps are family + AbleNet. Staff do not Choose New Vocab to ‘try pictures.’
Edit a button / hide buttons / new pages / link pages
Editing videos exist so you know the door you are not using on his live file. Practice on a printed board.
Menu passcode / hide Menu
If Menu asks for a passcode, you are at a gate. You do not need that door to model.
Choose a voice / languages
Voice and bilingual toggle stay as AbleNet set them.
Backup / import backup / Chat Editor
Backups are family + AbleNet. Campus staff do not export his file to a personal Drive.
Scanning, skin tone, visual scenes, videos in buttons
Access methods and button media are OT + AbleNet, not a classroom experiment.
