What this training asks of every adult
- 1Trevor’s voice is TouchChat on the QuickTalker Freestyle. Leave the speech app as it is.
- 2Staff model. Family and AbleNet program. Do not edit, hide, or swap vocabulary, voice, or grid.
- 3Keep the device on, unzipped, and in reach every block — not in a bag, not charging during instruction.
- 4He answers on the device. Handwriting is not the classroom output.
- 5Say the word, hit it on HIS screen, wait ten seconds, then honor what he says.
Say. Hit. Wait. Honor.
1
Say
Short real talk. Not a quiz. “Let’s eat.” “You want that.” “Stop. Wait.”
2
Hit
On HIS TouchChat, in his sightline, tap 1–2 core words. Do not hunt a perfect sentence.
3
Wait
Count ten seconds. Mouth shut. Do not repeat. Do not answer for him. Do not grab his hand.
4
Honor
Button, reach, look, vocal, head shake — treat it as the message. Then give the thing.
Homepage only
Use Word Finder if you get lost. Do not add school words. Do not open Edit.
Tap a homepage word to see where to model it.
